Hurricane Ian — Fill the Needs mission response

Hurricane Ian

During Hurricane Ian, Fill the Needs worked with more than 60 partner organizations and helped move 17 eighteen-wheelers of supplies into areas not receiving aid. The network also supported search and rescue, medical response, cleanup, logistics, transportation, technology, and satellite imaging, while volunteers logged more than 2,200 hours in 2.5 weeks.

Mission Context

Hurricane Ian made landfall at Cayo Costa as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds over 150 mph, causing severe damage across Florida communities. FTN’s response centered on large-scale network coordination and logistics.
