Fill the Needs supported remote western Alaska communities by listening first, connecting partners, and following embedded local and tribal leadership. Mission sources identified logistics, communications, winter access, fuel, food security, housing stabilization, and fragile infrastructure as central needs.
Mission Context
Remnants of Typhoon Halong devastated parts of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, where many villages are reachable only by bush plane or boat. Homes were damaged or destroyed, and fragile fuel, power, and water systems made the approach of winter especially dangerous. The mission record anticipated a 6–12 month recovery.
